18 Feb The Food Film Festival Comes to South Walton in April!
The Local Palate and The Food Film Festival are partnering to bring the best of food and film to the towns and beaches of South Walton along Scenic Highway 30A April 8-10, 2016!
The three day event includes food films from award-winning artists and unique meals prepared by the South’s best chefs. A portion of all proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations, Emerald Coast Theatre Company and Food For Thought Outreach Inc.
Emerald Coast Theatre Company‘s mission is to enrich and entertain the Emerald Coast community through professional and educational theatre. They inspire, educate, and empower the community and artists of all ages to achieve the highest level of cultural excellence through collaboration, productions, and educational programs.
Food For Thought Outreach Inc is a not-for-profit organization that provides backpacks filled with healthy, easy to prepare food for students who are dependent on free or reduced school meals. Their goal is to support a child’s development and educational experience by bridging the gap between school meals during weekends and holiday breaks.
The Food Film Festival South Walton will kick off the weekend extravaganza on Friday, April 8 with “A Taste of What’s to Come” where you will get to mingle with the chefs and filmmakers over cocktails and hor d’ourves.
Journey through the South on Saturday afternoon as you try southern inspired dishes prepared with the best food, craft beers and local spirits the region has to offer. Indulge your senses Saturday night with short films and complementary dishes from land or by sea inspired by the natural world!
To conclude the festival, Sunday, April 10 will celebrate the film It’s Grits! with a one-of-a-kind brunch.
